RHYTHM, ROOTS, AND RESPIRATION

A four-week creative workshop for the new year, open to all
TUESDAY EVENINGS  |  January 6 - 27, 2026
6 - 7:30 pm Mountain Time  |  Zoom

RHYTHM, ROOTS, AND RESPIRATION | Online

Rooted in foundations of attentional restoration and somatic attunement, this series is an invitation to explore writing in a new way. The intentions behind the offering are to facilitate calmer minds and richer learning; to encourage cultivation of and commitment to a practice; and to provide an opportunity to disengage from our default modes, expanding beyond our status quo. We will refine our practice of paying attention; read short creative works that span genres and geographies; and practice writing in short bursts. Our writing will be fueled by respiration, discussion, and curiosity. Rhythm, Roots, and Respiration offers all writers an expansive and welcoming space to explore ideas and access subterranean stories.

Rhythm, Roots, and Respiration is open to everyone.

You can expect to come away with idea seeds to spark future projects. You will receive readings and resources meant to orient you and offer context for our time together. You will connect with the Freeflow galaxy of writers and creators.

IS THIS WORKSHOP A GOOD FIT FOR YOU?

Rhythm, Roots, and Respiration is open to everyone who has a general interest in writing. No prior experience of any kind is necessary. Please just bring your open mind and a willingness to experiment and think in new ways. Established and emerging writers and creators of all genres and backgrounds are encouraged to join.
