chandra brown, freeflow institute director
Chandra is an Alaska-born writer, Grand Canyon river guide, and educator. She is currently based in Missoula, Montana where she teaches Spanish at a public high school and shares adventures with her canine companion, Arlo. Chandra has worked within the realm of river conservation, celebration, and communication since her 2010 Fulbright grant to Ecuador. She founded the Freeflow Institute in 2016 and is dedicated to the fusion of creative and natural narrative in the name of thoughtful preservation of wild spaces. Her work has been featured in a number of publications, most of them fairly river-centric.
NICholas triolo, freeflow board member
Nicholas Triolo is a writer and long-distance mountain runner currently living in Missoula, Montana. He holds a Masters of Science in Environmental Studies and is currently blog editor for Orion Magazine, previous Senior Editor for Camas Magazine, and Associate Director for the Todos Santos Writing Workshop in Mexico. His writing and films (The Crossing (2014); Shaped by Fire (2017)) have been featured in Orion Magazine, Terrain.org, Trail Runner Magazine, Whitefish Review, Clackamas Review, Juxtaprose Magazine, and others. Nicholas has attended the Breadloaf Environmental Writing Workshop and is an active member of ASLE (Association for the Study of Literature and the Environment).
